THE AFRICA COMMUNITY ACTION (ACA)
The Africa Community Action is a community organisation formed on the 3rd March 2006. Many of the organisation’s objectives are found in ACA’s constitution which can be made available to anyone who is interested in the organisation. So ACA is fairly a new organisation. It has not accomplished much in terms of implementing a long-term project. However, ACA has implemented short-term activities. Again these activities are highlighted in ACA’s annual report, the only one written so far
Some of the objectives are:
- Identify the needs of Refugees and Asylum seekers with specific problems.
- Establish the range of required training and/ or skills development to meet those needs. exanine current needs.
- Consider how far the outcomes of ACA services meet the refugees and asylum seekers' changing needs.o recommend ways of reviewing and changing ACA services.
The focus of ACA is support refugee community groups and create a network of support services, on co-odinated training and devopment of refugees. Within that, identify specialist roles of individual refugee groups. ACA wants to also focus on training refugees within community settings.
ACA is association that helps asylum seekers and refugees to intergrate properly into British society. those we help are extremely dificult circumstances. We also provide moral and emotional support within an acceptable setting while allowing the community living side by side to respect and acept the culture of each other.
ACA has become relevant to the lives of asylumseekers and refugee, especially in Blackburn with Darwen. Our aim is to widen out the ACA activity to the rest of Britain, and even beyond the UK borders.

The vision of ACA is to help Refugees and asylum seekers to integrate properly in the UK and empower them with the skills that will help them to improve the quality of their life.
